Templates are ready-made workflows designed for typical marketing scenarios. Instead of building automation from scratch, you can install a template, fill in a few required settings, and launch it right away.
Available System Templates
Templates are available under the Workflow → Templates tab and are divided into two groups:
Public templates — provided by Sembot, available to all users. They cover the most common marketing automation scenarios.
Workspace templates — templates added specifically for your environment by an administrator or implementation team. They may include scenarios tailored to your organization's specific needs.
Public template categories:
| Category | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Alerts | Monitoring campaign anomalies and automatic notifications |
| Optimization | Automatic actions to improve campaign performance |
| Reports | Periodic data collection and presentation |
| AI Intelligence | Data analysis using AI — trends, insights, recommendations |
| Ad Audit | Verification of campaign and feed configuration correctness |
Available integrations in templates:
- Google Ads
- Microsoft Advertising
- Google Merchant Center
- Phrase Monitor (visibility monitoring)
- AI (agent nodes)
Each template on the list displays: name, category, integration icons it uses, and estimated run frequency (e.g., "Daily").

Installing a Template
Installing a template creates a new workflow on your account — as a fully editable copy.
Steps:
- Go to Workflow → Templates.
- Browse the list or use category and integration filters to find the template you are interested in.
- Click the template — a preview will open with a description, list of benefits, and required integrations.
- Click "I want to use this".
- If the template requires filling in specific fields (e.g., Google Ads account, target project, alert threshold) — a form with those fields will appear. Fill them in.
- Confirm — Sembot creates a new workflow on your account with the name and configuration taken from the template.
What happens after installation:
Installation does not "link" you to the template — it creates an independent copy. You can freely edit it, and any later changes to the original template will not affect your workflow.
A newly installed workflow has Inactive status — you must manually activate it after verifying the configuration.

Modifying a Template
Once installed, a template becomes a regular workflow — you can change it in any way, just like any other manually created workflow.
What you can modify:
- Add, remove, and rearrange blocks
- Change conditions and alert thresholds (e.g., change "CPC increased by 20%" to "CPC increased by 15%")
- Customize actions — e.g., change the person responsible for created tasks
- Change the run schedule
- Expand the workflow with additional data sources or conditional branches
Tip: Before making modifications, it is worth running the template once using the "Run once" button in its original form — to see how it works and what data flows through it. Then make your changes.
There is no way to "restore" a template to its original state after modifications, unless you install it again as a new workflow.

Creating Your Own Template and Sharing It
Sembot does not currently have a built-in "Save as Template" feature — there is no button that would allow you to publish your own workflow as a template available to others.
Available workarounds:
Export and import JSON:
Any workflow can be exported as a JSON file (the "Export workflow" option in the editor menu). This file contains the full definition — all blocks, connections, and global variables. You can:
- Store it locally as a reference point or "master copy"
- Share it with another person who can import it as a new workflow using the "Import workflow" option
- Send it to an administrator who can add it to the workspace template catalog
Workspace templates:
Sembot administrators can add templates to the workspace template catalog — they are then visible in the "Templates" tab for all users in that environment. If you have created a workflow that may be useful for the entire team, send its JSON export to the administrator with a request to add it to the catalog.
