Product Campaign Monitoring

Table of Contents

What it is and why to use it

This module gives you a complete picture of the health of your product campaigns in Google Shopping — which products are performing, which have issues, and what requires your attention.

View accessible via: Monitoring → Product Ad Position Tracking.

Products with no impressions

The Unmonitored Products tab shows products from your catalog that are not being tracked by Sembot — which often means they may also not be appearing in campaigns.

How to add products to monitoring:

Manually — select the desired products and click Monitor Selected.

In bulk with a filter — if you want to add an entire category or products meeting specific criteria, use the Monitor by Filters option.

Monitor Best Products — Sembot can decide on its own which products are most important. It analyzes campaign data and recommends products with the greatest potential. Works only for products with the GTIN field filled in.

Example use case: A store with 5,000 products cannot monitor all of them. It uses the Monitor Best Products option, which selects 200 products generating 80% of revenue.

Products with low CTR

A product priced higher than most competitors is rarely clicked in Google Shopping — shoppers typically sort by price. The table shows the price position of each product.

If you see a product at price position 5 or higher, consider:

  • Lowering the price — getting closer to the cheapest market offer
  • Lowering shipping costs — Google Shopping displays the total price including delivery
  • Improving the product title and images — the price may be fine, but the product may present poorly in results

Products rejected by Google

When Google Merchant Center rejects a product, it stops appearing in product campaigns. Rejected products are visible in the GMC → Products → Rejected module.

What to do when a product is rejected:

  1. Check the reason for rejection in the GMC view
  2. Fix the indicated error in the product feed (Feed module)
  3. Google will re-review the product within 1–3 business days

Most common reasons for rejection:

  • Missing required attributes (e.g., GTIN, price, availability)
  • Inconsistent price between the website and the feed
  • Inappropriate product image

Campaign health dashboard

The main project dashboard shows a condensed summary of monitoring status:

  • How many keywords and products are actively monitored
  • How many products are in the Top 3 price position — where sales are best
  • How many products have no monitoring yet and require attention

The aggregate visibility view shows how many products and keywords appear in top positions in organic search, Shopping, and paid ads — in the current period and compared to the previous one.

Example use case: A manager opens the dashboard at the morning stand-up and in 30 seconds knows if anything requires attention — without logging into Google Ads and Google Merchant Center separately.
