Connecting GMC to a Project
Google Merchant Center (GMC) is Google's platform for managing product data used in Shopping campaigns. Connecting GMC to Sembot enables monitoring the product catalog status and synchronizing data with advertising campaigns.
Prerequisites
- An active Google Merchant Center account.
- The user must have access to GMC at the Admin or Standard level.
- The Google account used for authorization must be added as a user in the GMC panel.
Connection Steps
- Go to Workspace Settings → Connections → Google, then select the Google Merchant Center section.
- Click Connect account — if you already have an authorized Google account (e.g., through the Google Ads integration), Sembot may use the existing token. Otherwise, you will be redirected to the Google OAuth consent screen.
- After authorization, Sembot will retrieve the list of GMC accounts available for your Google account.
- Go to the Connections tab in the side menu, select the appropriate GMC account from the list, and click Save.
If you have a Multi-client account (MCA), all sub-accounts will appear in the list. Select the account that contains the products associated with the project.
Linking GMC with Google Ads in Sembot
For product (Shopping) campaigns in Google Ads to use product data from GMC, both accounts must be linked. Linking is done directly in the Google Ads and Google Merchant Center panels — this is not an operation performed from within Sembot.
Once the accounts are correctly linked on the Google side, Sembot will automatically detect the association during synchronization and enable full use of product data in campaigns.
