Notifications and Reminders
Table of Contents
Notification Types
Sembot supports two notification delivery channels:
- In-app — notifications visible directly in the application: as toast notifications (appearing briefly on screen) and in the notification center accessible from the navigation bar
- Email — notifications sent to the user's email address
Both channels operate independently — the same event can generate an in-app and email notification simultaneously, only in-app, only email, or neither — depending on the user's settings.
Notifications are generated by the following events, among others:
| Event | Type |
|---|---|
Mention @person in a comment | Mention |
| New comment on a task I belong to | Comment |
| Assignment to a task | Assignment |
| Removal from a task | Assignment |
| Task status change | Status change |
| Task priority change | Priority change |
| Task section change | Section change |
| Upcoming deadline | Reminder |
Configuration — What and When I Receive
Notification settings are available in the Notification Settings tab in the user panel. The view displays a grid of events and channels (email / in-app) — each combination can be enabled or disabled independently.
The system supports a three-level settings hierarchy:
- Global — default user preferences
- Workspace level — overrides global settings for a specific workspace
- Project level — overrides workspace settings for a specific project
This allows, for example, disabling email notifications for all projects except one critical one.
Deadline Reminders
Sembot sends reminder notifications about an upcoming task deadline. Reminders work automatically based on the system schedule and are delivered according to the channels configured by the user.
